Mario Carneiro or “Pogo” – one of the most influential, iconoclastic, and always controversial figures in the Latin American punk rock movement throughout the 80s and 90s, will be visiting the one year anniversary of the ‘Low Rent’ program on Santiago Radio tonight for a live interview between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
Pogo was a founding member of the legendary group ‘Fiskales Ad Hoc’ which he joined in 1987 and later left to form ‘Los Peores de Chile’ in 1990. The band recorded their first self titled release in 1994 which thrust them into unforeseen national recognition with the singles “Síndrome Camboya” and “Chicholina”. In 1997 they went on to record “13 Mordiscos de Amor” and quickly disbanded in 1998 due to infighting and artistic differences.
After a 12 year absence, Pogo has brought Los Peores de Chile back to enthusiastic response from scores of fans. More information Los Peores de Chile can be found at:

Low Rent airs every Friday night between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm on www.santiagoradio.cl and celebrates its 52nd edition tonight. Low Rent promotes artists from the local, original punk, metal, rock music scene with weekly live interviews and seeks to give a voice to a largely ignored segment of Chile’s artistic community.
